Embedded Systems

Tertec has significant expertise in embedded systems. It has developed not only the hardware but RTOS and application libraries for these standalone and networked microcomputer systems. They have been deployed as single autonomous units or multi-modal clusters working off a TCP/IP backbone. Some of the real-time projects have had mini web-servers running as the control and scheduling points for the human GUI Interface. These systems exist in various products ranging from the factory floor (Data Acquisition Systems) to systems that have been used as sailing computers on sailboats.

Tertec has built real-time extensions for Linux that allow for responsive task intensive processing to be performed. These extensions have enabled robotic machines to use Linux effectively for control and communications.
